Elayne McIvor (Vlahaki), MPH, CE

President & Principal Consultant

Catalyst Consulting Inc. is owned and managed by Elayne Vlahaki. Elayne has conducted a wide range of research and evaluation projects within the non-profit, governmental and private sectors that address a range of public health issues, such as HIV/AIDS, mental health and addictions, Aboriginal health, chronic diseases, and women's health. Working both locally and globally, she is driven to improve the effectiveness of social impact efforts. 

Elayne focuses on adopting participatory research and evaluation methods in which relevant stakeholders are engaged to improve the use and relevance of findings. She is passionate about working closely with her clients to enhance their understanding of evaluation concepts and practices, and build cultures of evaluation within their organizations. Elayne's passion for capacity building extends beyond the organizational level, as she is currently the Sessional Instructor for the Program Planning and Evaluation class within the Faculty of Health Sciences at Simon Fraser University. 

Elayne completed her Masters of Public Health (Global Health Concentration) at Simon Fraser University. Her capstone research focused on exploring the outcomes of participating in support programs for women living with HIV in British Columbia from a qualitative perspective.
