Guiding Strategic Directions for the Alzheimer Society of B.C.

The need:

In early 2022 the Alzheimer Society of B.C. was in the process of developing its next multi-year strategic plan.

The Society wanted to hear from a diverse range of partners and community members to help inform its future directions.

What we did:

Catalyst completed a dementia-friendly stakeholder engagement process that clearly identified strategic priorities for the Society. A mixed-methods approach was employed to meaningfully consult with diverse stakeholders, including people living with dementia, family and friend caregivers, Society volunteers, community partners, and Indigenous, South Asian, Chinese community members affected by, or connected to dementia. We facilitated discussions with Society leadership and the Board of Directors to make sense of the findings, validate results, and determine implications for action.

Services:

  • Stakeholder Engagement

  • Strategic Planning

Impact Areas:

  • Mental Health

  • Seniors’ Health

What our client had to say:

“Elayne was able to synthesize a large amount of data from multiple sources – interviews, focus groups, and surveys – into a meaning-making analysis for us. The findings have been immensely helpful in guiding our strategic planning process.”

JEN LYLE, CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER, ALZHEIMER SOCIETY OF B.C.
